Parasitas
Nils Uellendahl - GermanyConcept
The artificial leaves called parasitas are attached to natural tree leaves in spring. The tree moves its leaves to adjust the wave angle of the sunlight and achieve maximum photosynthesis while growing. Consequently my products are automatically and constantly moved towards the wave angle which is also most effective for solar cells (photovoltaic systems).
When the trees loose their leaves in autumn my products also fall down and the consumer collects its energy. Parasitas is a system of green power generation that uses trees and natural processes without harming them. My products can be seen as rechargeable batteries that are charged with solar energy outside and used for domestic appliances inside.
Environmental Benefit
Nature becomes an essential part of the function of my product (symbiosis). Therefore consumers must care for their trees if they want to generate power with my system. Biodegradable material is used. Therefore the offcut can be used as fertiliser for trees that carry my products.
Production
Lasercutting technology allows an unlimited possibility of shapes and materials because no production tools are needed in the manufacturing process.
