Ubicycle
Jung Tak - United StatesCommuting by automobile is one of the main causes of environmental problems. Although recent technology, such as hybrid vehicles and clean diesel, eases the problem a bit, a more adventurous solution would be to use human-powered transportation-the bicycle.
The bicycle has been used for decades as transport to or from stations in Japan and much of Europe. However, there is still a need for new public bicycle service system, which reinforces "security," "accessibility," and "efficiency" in order to popularize human-powered transportation by dispelling the myths of "inconvenience."
The goal of Ubicycle-public bicycle service is to encourage people to use bicycles as an alternative ways to commute, providing easy-to-access public bicycles to and from transit or nearby home, school, and workplace. As a matter of fact, having fewer cars on the road not only reduces pollution but also saves money and gas, which is a limited natural resource.
