Plastics for Wear Applications

I see this question all the time: "What plastic do I use for a bearing I'm designing into my product?" Not always an easy question to answer. There are quite a few choices out there and each has its own set of pros and cons. This is one area of plastic part design that really takes some research.

I posted a few general guidelines in the materials and processes boards. It's just a few of the more common choices, but by no means a complete list.

Have some experiences designing plastic bearings or parts that see a lot of wear? Come join in on the discussion. There's a lot of designers out there who are looking for some guidance.
