About Nidecker
Swiss company NIDECKER, founded in 1887 by carpenters, have become specialists in the art of curving and laminating wood. To this day, the company is 100% family owned and operated by the fourth and fifth Nidecker generation. In 1984, they became the pioneers of European snowboard manufacturing. Today, Nidecker is represented in over 30 countries across the world. Teaming up with EPFL, one of the finest Technology Institutes in Europe, they collaborated to build some of the finest snowboards to ever hit the slopes.
Nidecker's expertise resulted in their winning the Snowboard Technological Innovation competition, the most prestigious award in the boardsport industry. The prize was won after Niecker was able to integrate a Welded Wood construction, an innovative way to vertically laminate a wood core without the use of petrochemicals or glues of any sort. Conscious of the environment, Nidecker has developed and integrated a multitude of organic ingredients in their construction process, such as teak sidewalls, a nano particle recycled base, and linseed fibers. This combination of organic elements drastically reduces the use of petrochemicals and other harmful materials in the building of many Nidecker models.
