Jeffstaple is the founder and principal of Staple Design, the NYC-based clothing label, creative agency and retail space. As the boss of a three-part firm with clients and projects spanning multiple strata, the man has an inordinate amount of paperwork coming across his desk, from contracts to bills to design sketches. In his blog, he walks us through the desk tools he uses to get through it all, ranging from Florentinian letter openers to Japanese carpet knives to diversionary objects that are "great to play with especially on those long, drawn-out conference calls." An excerpt:
The Levenger is amazing. It's not a letter opener. But a paper cutter for slicing articles out of magazines and newspapers with ease. It uses a tiny ceramic bit at the end to easily score through 1 single sheet of paper. So you can slice a mag and the score won't go to the page underneath. At the same time you can rub this over your hand and you don't feel a thing. Awesome invention.
