It's funny how engineeers will see one thing and designers will see another. Here a bunch of Dyson engineers are using a balloon to demonstrate their bladeless Air Multiplier fan's "inducement and entrainment," two words I've never used when shopping for a fan. (We gather it means the fan sucks air in one side and spits it out the other.) And while we don't give a rat's patoot about the science behind it, yes, if we had a bunch of these fans and a balloon, we'd probably try to recreate this experiment for the entertainment value:
