Philips' LivingColors is a color-changing LED lamp that emits a rich spectrum of colored light against a wall for reflection back into the room.
I've heard about this before, but at the North American launch of the product at NeoCon this year, I discovered the suprisingly awesome remote that comes with the system. Users need only to tap the RGB wheel to change the color of the light instantaneously. By sliding a finger along the gradient, the LED will slowly change from ROY to G to BIV. There are also controls for brightness and saturation, so if you're tired of color, you can turn it all to white. Watch our quick video demo in the video above.
Though I can't imagine wanting a color changing, LED mood light, something about tapping a color wheel and getting an immediate response feels like magic. If only it could control the colors of paint...
The lights are in the process of making their way to American stores, but can be bought in Europe or on Amazon.
