When we were invited to Montreal for SIDIM 2011, we were given a special tour of Moment Factory, a multi-creative company that uses the most cutting edge technologies to create large-scale immersive experiences. Whether it's turning Ottawa's parliamentary building into a 6-story by 143 meter wide screen or leveraging the audience for the Arcade Fire's Coachella set into pixels of modulating light, the Factory has created interactive environments for stage, street and in venues.
Check out some of the cool work they're doing using interactive laser technology. Most recently used by the singer and performer M.I.A. during her European tour, the technology allows gestures under the beams to trigger a variety of different sound effects, music and videos while changing the color of the light. She could also move under the multicolored laser beams, triggering a different piece of music depending on the color of the beam.
