To commemorate his 3000th career hit and raise money for charity, Derek Jeter and sports memorabilia retailer Steiner Sports are auctioning off this "DJ3K" steamer trunk, which is loaded up with signed baseballs and all ten of Jeter's signature sneakers produced by the Jordan Brand. Proceeds will go to Jeter's Turn 2 Foundation, an organization that creates programs designed to steer at-risk youth away from drugs and alcohol and towards healthy lifestyles.
At press time the high bid was $3,600, which I actually thought was kind of low given that only two of these trunks exist (the other being owned by Jeter himself). The auction ends tonight at 10:30pm EST.
