Up above are the prototypes of Martin Solem's Daddy Long Legs stools, which were awarded Best New Product for this year's Blueprint Design Awards. The stools were on display at 100% Design in London, further nested within an exhibit called 100% Norway.
Norwegian designer Solem, a recent grad of DKDS (The School of Design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts) has a book worth a look:
The Urban Shelter park bench is a different take on public seating, neatly encompassing the concepts of both closed and open space.
The 1st Table, designed for both conference and dining rooms, mates laminated beechwood with a linoleum top and aluminum legs.
The Modern Classic sofa/bench would look at home in a progressive 1950s living room, though it was designed for outdoor public use.
The 3 Point Barstool looks solid at first glance, but a closer look reveals it to be laminated ashwood. It's stackable to boot.
