Wood you pay for salvaged scraps of wood? What if they looked like other things?
It's yet another case of one-man's-trash recycling: London's Wood Be Waste is a textbook example of upcycling, adding value to materials that wood otherwise be discarded and at best recycled.
The project is the brainchild of four third-year students at Ravensbourne University—two product designers and two interaction designers—who are excited to exhibit the goods next week at Penrose Market.
The obvious reference point—and de facto gold standard—is Michael Roopenian's "Engrain" tactile keyboard (below left). Complete (or finish, perhaps) the collection with the "Actor" keyboard case by Athanasios Babalis and Christina Skouloudi (below right).
