Another system of modular bookcases that, like Juan Pablo Quintero's L-Shelf system, coincidentally comes from a Barcelona-based industrial designer is the BrickBox system. ID'er Antxon Salvador accumulated a massive amount of books while researching one he was writing, and shortly thereafter, he and graphic designer Roger Zanni came up with the BrickBox:
Compared to Quintero's system, which would you prefer? I'm leaning towards the BrickBox as the interlocking nature puts my subway-vibration fears to rest. And as someone who's constantly re-arranging my living space, I dig the easy tote-ability of Salvador and Zanni's design.
