The M lamp is a wireless task light that can be transported anywhere within the home, office and in between.
It stands at 9", projects up to 3,000 lux of warm light from its movable head. This is approximately equivalent to a 40W incandescent bulb. In its standard mode the Lamp's dimmable LED will emit 1,000 lux of light for more than 18 hours on a single charge. And in the case of a power outage, the M Lamp will automatically illuminate with enough power to light up a small room, making it a useful companion in times of need.
- How did you learn that you had been recognized by the jury?
It was a Friday afternoon in the studio with the announcement streaming live in the background. Needless to say not much work was done after hearing the verdict...
- What's the latest news or development with your project?
The lamp is currently in the final stages of production and will be available from Juniper in October.
- What is one quick anecdote about your project?
Nothing really of note, apart from blowing a few fuses and taking a few electric shocks when I was making the first prototype.
- What was an "a-ha" moment from this project?
There hasn't really been one defining moment, more a series of small ones. Discovering a new material or component that has solved a problem during the development process. It's been a hard slog in terms of development but we know the hard work and patience will be worth it come October and receiving this award has really helped to keep the momentum going.

Two poufs in two different dimensions which can be transformed into a portable mattress or a couch.
TANGO takes two to tango, so you need two of the same elements from which you can build functional mobile and playful furniture. Multifunctional wool pouf is made of soft foam in optional colours with possibility of sitting and sleeping in two options (indoor and outdoor).
- How did you learn that you had been recognized by the jury?
I eagerly awaited the verdict looking at the page from time to time but on that day I did not have the courage to do it. And there was a nice surprise. When I opened my mail and I started watching a video of nominations I saw my name among honorees. However I was not sure whether it was my name so I watched the movie a few times listening to the words. Then I read the email and realized that it was my Tango pouf honored in such an honorable way.
- What's the latest news or development with your project?
Even before the competition the pouf was given the outdoor form in order to increase the number of potential customers and enhance its potential use in the garden or terrace .In the course of describing its history in terms of the award-winning project I came to the conclusion that the ideal completion of its usability will transfer its multi-functionality from grass to water. Therefore, I would soon prepare poufs called "Tanfo4Fun" inflatable ones made of waterproof material to allow the use on the sea or the swimming pool as well as giving it that way even more mobility. Maybe a little too much plans for the future but I wish I could take up the challenge with a partner who will put the solutions in accordance with nature and allow me to design a pouf from natural linen material using a specially developed sponge filling with sea grass for areas and regions of the world where it is the most important factor influencing the health status of people and the safety of our nature.
- What is one quick anecdote about your project?
When I presented Tango pouf in Milan at the Temporary Museum for New Design last year many people asked me why it is called Tango. Then I demonstrated its functions and the viewers stood like being spellbound realizing that it takes two to tango or two pieces that fit together such as in the Tango pouf apparently not betraying its hidden emotions.
- What was an "a-ha" moment from this project?
This project gave me a lot of satisfaction in the course of its implementation, it was the first organic work based on bionics. Because nature creates ideal models I started searching and analyzing some values included in it. So when I found out what possibilities there are in this multi-purposed solution designed by me I was incredibly amazed and happy. What's more I hope that this project will give its customers as much fun to use as for me so much fun with its creation.
