"The
idea of living in the middle of the desert in a prefab
1,200-square-foot home, stretching ourselves financially and driving
three hours a day, wasn't appealing anymore," Mr. Cannon, 34, said.
In
teresting article in the NYT
about a social trend of moving away from California, specifically San
Francisco and LA. Apparently, the high cost of living eventually
outweighs culture, good food, and sunshine. I'm doubtful of this effect
on designers as we would probably be one of the last demographics to
leave a major metropolitan center, unless of course it was to go
another major metropolitan center.
sidenote: The Times infographics for this article are as gorgeous as always.
