Scannerphotography.com takes me back to my first flatbed in 96 which I immediately turned on it's side to shoot my room. Somewhat more sophisticated, Michael Golembewski's custom built scanner camera uses the frame of an old Horseman 450L monorail 4x5 camera, an extensively modified Canon LIDE 20, some light proof duct tape, putty and black spray paint. Awesome! Images can be captured up to 115 megapixels and shooting takes anywhere from 15 seconds to five minutes scan time, depending on resolution. Don't miss the animation section.
