Capping off a glorious week in San Francisco, Core77's Design 2.0 event welcomed a packed house of design fans to learn about Products and their Ecosystems: Understanding the power of context in product innovation. Moderated by Jessie Scanlon and featuring Diego Rodriguez, Steve Portigal, Robyn Waters and Peter Rojas, the day moved through a very social check-in-get-your-badge-meet-n-greet hour, rapid-fire 20-minute presentations from the panelists, a moderated discussion period, and some Q&A from the audience. With lots of heavy breathing and an air conditioner working overtime, the room broke for tasty Taco Truck refreshments and a Serge Gainsbourg-infused cocktail reception. After dinner, we met for a sweet afterparty at Supperclub (thanks to One&Co. for the tip), where presenters, fans and dare-we-say hangers-on(!) rolled around on beds (seriously), drank in the atmosphere and beverages, and did their best to not talk about design.
Big shout outs to Mi-chelle and Jeremiah and everyone in SF who helped us get this event together; we were thrilled to be back on the west coast, and want to thank the local design community for showing us the love
Full gallery of pics, podcasts and reviews soon, but for now, check out immediate afterthoughts from:
Luke Wroblewski at Functioning Form
Peter Merholz at Adaptive Path
And of course, our favorite (forethought), from ValleyWag:
"Tuesday afternoon: Oh boy, just $175 for an afternoon of lecturing designers!..." Don't they know we would've comped 'em a press pass? All you have to do is ask.
