If you're checking out grad schools for next September, be sure to RSVP for SVA's MFA in Products of Design program's Open House & Info Session on Friday, November 6th, from 2-5pm in New York City. Chaired by Core77's Allan Chochinov, the department welcomes guests to meet faculty, current students, and other prospective students, as well as tour the department and Visible Futures Lab. You'll see tons of projects, and get very familiar with the curriculum.
You can check out the entire program at their site, or read 14 reasons why they're different, but here's the upshot:
"The MFA in Products of Design is an immersive, two-year graduate program that creates exceptional practitioners for leadership in the shifting terrain of design. We educate heads, hearts and hands to reinvent systems and catalyze positive change. Graduates emerge with confidence, methods, experience and strong professional networks. They gain the skills necessary to excel at top design firms and progressive organizations, create ingenious enterprises of their own, and become lifelong advocates for the power of design."
Finally, we've blogged about it before, but here's a quick video they made to give you a sense of what the program is all about:
