To be completed in 2009 in Miami, the COR Building (great name) will stand as the triumpant result of joint efforts between Chad Oppenheim Architecture and Design, energy consultant Buro Happold, and Ysreal Seinuk, a structural engineer. The mixed-use building, housing 113 residential units, 20,100 square feet of office space and 5,400 square feet of retail space, will feature eco-conscious elements inside and out. COR's unique energy-efficient facade and structure are carefully designed to accomodate the use of wind turbines, photovoltaic panels, and solar hot water generation. The interiors are to be graced with many green accents such as efficient appliances, recycled glass tile flooring, and bamboo-lined hallways.
