A couple of weeks ago, we asked for your thoughts on Microsoft's forthcoming designer-targeted Surface Studio. (Response was generally positive, with a couple of haters.) There's still a month to go before it hits store shelves, and they're not sending out media tester units, but now's as good a time as any to think about what it will do for design sketching. Let's look at some of the drawing app developers Microsoft's working with:
Well, I gotta say that looks pretty darned alluring, and my hat's off to both Microsoft and the app developers. I figured that Dial might be a gimmick, but after seeing it in action, I suspect that when you go back to sketching on regular paper, your hand will be subconsciously reaching for the Dial.
The only downside I can see is, everyone in the office wanting to get their greasy mitts on your Dial while you go over projects together. You're gonna be Purell'ing that thing constantly!
