CORE Seal of Approval

Zero Halliburton

The only significant change to the classic Zero Halliburton attaché case in the last 50 years has been the advertising. The design is basically unchanged - an exposed aluminum shell, two sets of ribs on the body, and steel hardware. Indeed, it is the conspicuous use of the materials that gives the Zero Haliburton its timeless style. The design celebrates the inherent qualities of the materials, using the finish to stand out from other cases, and the strength to make it almost indestructable.

Founded by Erle P. Halliburton, the Halliburton Case Company began producing the metal case developed by its founder in 1938. The 1946 edition integrated "dual styling ribs" which added structural integrity and the only bit of flash the case needed. At this point design improvements virtually halted, as the case had achieved near perfection.

Although it is essentially the same piece you bought 50 years ago, it remains a strikingly contemporary design - built far beyond the requirements of a typical attaché case. This is what gives the case its high-tech, secret agent appeal. You may only carry your Zero Halliburton from the seat of your car into your office, but knowing that when your office burns your briefcase will survive gives you a certain degree of satisfaction. The cases aren't cheap, but they're guaranteed for life. And if in the course of a lifetime you put a scratch in the case, you can remove it with a piece of steel wool.
