Nineteen Flash experiments and a circular drawing tool that spins in
Spiro graphic motion comprise the playful world of uncontrol.com.
Created
by 25 year old designer, Manuel Tan, of NYC's Rare Medium, uncontrol
concentrates on principles of simplistic movement within complex
objects. "Breaking down an object to its essential parts allows you to
see the object for what it is and what it can do," explains Tan, "I
choose simple objects because sometimes I end up breaking stuff, trying
to see what's inside."
Avoiding confusing interfaces, uncontrol sticks
to a grid navigation system where users can interact with tiny
simulations of everything from spiders to worms to pogo sticks to
spinning DNA simulations. Based on basic physics rules, the site takes a
malleable approach to musical composition and drawing with draggable
objects whose buoyant properties create unique interaction.
