I read as many books as I can from Alan Cooper to teh Design of everyday things. Next semester ill be usign Java Beans! However, I have a on campus interview with Microsoft in late January, and I want to prove to them my potential and passion yo pursue UI design, how can I do this...PLEASE HELP! Ill do and by any tools i need.

The main 'tool' any non-visual (which I take you to be) interaction designer needs is communication. You're in trouble by the likes of the above post.

I doubt MS will appreciate you learning (arch-rival SUN's) Java or reading (ex-Microserf) Cooper.

I also doubt they'll consider you for UI if that's not what your degree is in... What's going on here, are you changing your mind at the 11th hour? If so, you should consider looking at a Masters program in UI.
