Hi well i have been using Rhino for some time now and i think it is an superb modeling app. Alias on the other hand has all the glitch and glamour but in my opinion lacks flexibility and ease of use!
In Alias you get basically everything, sketching, modeling, rendering. while in Rhino you have the modeling which is fantastic, but then you have a limited rendering feature of Flamingo and no sketch.

I read somewhere that maya is much better than alias. alias based on old code and interface. rhino lacks because no construction history.
if you render for example rhino, alias, maya or 3ds max, you prefer pro/e wildfire for modelling.

Maya is not better than Alias for ID. Maya has no inherent units, so it is a pain in the butt to model anything in actual units. Maya is a cool renderer but apparently lacks some of the surfacing and analysis feeatures of Alias. Spot on on Rhino-pity that it does not have construction history. I wish it did) Havent used Alias in a while so I acant really say what the exact advantage is over Maya. But if you surface a lot, the parametric features of Alias save you a lot of time.
