WELL, IT REALLY DEPENDS ON WHAT IM DESIGNING.FOR ME ITS MOSTLY HIP HOP. ( WHEN DESIGNING INTERIORS) MAINLY BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE IT MAKES MY CREATIVE JUICES FLOW IN MY HEAD (LAUGH). I LISTEN TO A LOT OF OLD "SKOOL" SEEMS TO BE MORE POSITIVE AND REMINDS ME OF YOUNGER DAYS WHEN I WAS JUST DREAMING ABOUT DOING THIS.(NOW I'M DOING IT) IF I'M MESSING AROUND WITH SOME CLOTHING DESIGNS( WORKING ON GETTING MY STUFF IN STORES ON THE RUN WAY AS I TYPE) RIGHT NOW THE SONG THAT GETS ME GOING IS DAT, JOE BUDDEN "PUMP IT UP". THE SONG IS HOT , ITS DEFINETLY A RUNWAY SONG SO ,I ACTUALLY VISUALIZE MODELS WALKING THE RUNWAY IN MY CLOTHING. AFTER BANGING MY HEAD BRAIN STORMING SERIOUSLY, I LOOK FOR THEM OLD 80'S TRACKS. IF YOU CAN RELATE, HOLLA BACK.

You guys are a bunch of losers. Who cares what Karim or Starck is listening to. What, if you listen to the same music as them does that make you a better designer?

try:

Dean Martin - Volare

Cake - Stick shifts and safety belts

Bob Marley - Sun is shining (atb remix)

Holst - The planets

Dropkick Murpheys - Cadence to Arms

Buffet - A pirate looks at forty

David Allen Coe - The perfect country/western song or You never even called me by my name

Tenacious D - F*** her gently

Harry C. Jr - Let's call the whole thing off

Van Halen - Ice cream man (demo)

Rashids list and the like is only to try and look hip. People get a clue. Being cutting edge is a joke, like wearing your baseball hat sideways like ashley kutcher (hollywood). Yeah you're really rebelling against society, posers.

Forgot to add: Johny Cash - Boy named Sue and Sunday Coming Down

Now that's a F***in list!

does anyone else think karim rashid sucks......picked up his book at the library the other day....some seriously garrish f---ing shit....not to mention the ridiculous attitude "i want to change the world".....yeah clutter it with more f---ing ugly shit.....what kind of an asshole releases a cd of his favorite music - who the **** cares he's just a designer....to me this is all symtomatic of the utter void in the more aesthetic based side of design....I think the whole "designer as personality" needs to be dropped.....to many "gurus" with empty dreams and silly notions of some psedo intellectual "vision".....all talk and no deliver

DJ's all over the world release CD's of their favorite music... everyone from DJ Spooky to Paul Oakenfold does it. Rashid's CD is nothing more than another DJ Mix. Get over it.

Hey there, I listen to Dave Matthews, Nora Jones, and similar artists, but mostly classical when I am designing. I honestly am most creative, and the most productive when listening to classical music!
