I recently applied to UC and have just recieved an invitation to compete for the cincinnnatus scholarship. I was wondering if anyone here knows what i can expect in terms of what i need to do and what type of money i can get.

For the cincinnatus thing you have to do some "leadership" style workshops which are kinda bs.. but be talkative in them... they take down names of the talkative ones. Then you have to do some essays. Thats how it worked when I did it 6 years ago... the first year they did that scholarship, so it could have changed. I got the minimum which was $1500 a year. You get that just for showing up. To keep getting that $1500 a year you have to keep up your grades and do 30 hrs of community service each quarter (I think its per quarter). I was stupid one quarter and let my grades slip and had my scholarship stopped. Its not hard tp keep it up though. Although doing your community service hours on co-op can be a hassle.Congrats on choosing UC! You won't regret it. IP: Logged |

30 hours a year, not quarter. Keep a minimum 3.3 GPA and do the hours and you keep the moneyIP: Logged |
