how much can the designer remain true to their own sense of style and conviction? Say a client wanted to change your design to look a certain way that you thought was completely ugly, and wouldn't want to be known as creating such a horrid looking thing! How much authority does a designer have in such a situation?IP: Logged |

It's called a bad client. Bottom line, if they are paying the bill you do what they want.IP: Logged |

If you're on your own you can surely fire a client if you can afford it. Not a smart thing to do. It's your job to design, recommend and influence but in the end if you are working for others... you do what your clients and bosses what you to... or find another job.BTW... Ugly sells... look at the Scions. The designer should be ashamed but people are buying them. http://www.scion.com/drive/photos/drive_xb_photos.html IP: Logged |
