hey kid take it easy. this message board is a test just as eveything else is. yeah you got beat up but your still on your feet. how many other people put their work up here for all of vultures. that takes balls. and as much as design skills are important for your success those balls will get you farther. you still have got a lot to learn but thats what schools for. so best of luck to ya and keep that head up

im a shit hot designer and noone can tell me otherwise but that doesnt automatically qualify me for a job, i know crap designers that are workin and cant draw a straight line with a ruler

I think its great this person has a very positive approach and is determined to do well in a demanding field. However, nobody likes a wise guy. They get on everyone's tits. Better to be a teamplayer. Reduce the ego talk a little, and dont flare up at some of these comments cause at the end of the day, you are gonna have far worse remarks from real world business who havent got a flying f**k how your head works and why you get angry when they dont understand your idea. Clear and conscise, calm and collected. Practice this me tinks.

that is good advice for him, but when you put your heart and soul into your work and people still try to rip you apart, without giving you the respect or recognition for the hard work you put in at least then whats the point? Most of us are not looking for a pat on the back, but asking him to not care about what others who are supposed to be the "professionals" of the field say is impossible. Unless you just don't care about your designs in that case you shouldn't be in design. Thats just how I feel.

I agree with what you point is here. If, and this is where training and experience prevails, if you have critiqued your idea thoroughly enough and believe you can answer any question 'professionals' can throw at you then bollocks to them! If you can answer confidently when pitching every tiny detail, everything, take on the project yourself. If not, hush up and start listening, learning or searching for work.
Passion is important, too much passion has a detrimental effect on the process and the team. (in my own opinion of course)
Creativity is a powerful emotion in an empty mans mind. Live a life not a design.
