Anyone selling illustrations for apparel (for example teen fashion) as a freelancer? How do you find interested buyers, how much do they pay per design, do they want all rights etc...? Is it difficult to get designs in the market? All hints and advice are appreciated!

Hey. Is this really "FreeDesign"? Cool.

Post a link to your portfolio.

Can you please e-mail me and tell me more about your ideas regarding the fashion business?

Want to make sure you are "for real"

I'm not in the fashion business. But I do have contacts and free/cheap would be useful to them. A good reference would be useful for me (no money, but improved business relationship).

Portfolio is standard. If you don't have a portfolio to show publicly, I wouldn't be interested in passing on a reference.

I can't promise free work, but if anyone is interested in having a look at my designs, feel free to visit: www.ahokainen.com

Thank you and have a Merry Christmas!

Glad you posted a link. I made the mistake of thinking you were selling fashion illustrations (fashion design). However, I'm happy to pass on your link should I come across someone seeking patterns (might actually be more opportunity, to be honest).

Best of luck. And Merry Christmas to you as well.

btw, when I say "pass on your link" to people interested in patterns, I have to admit thinking you might want to protect your work a bit better. Those images are good quality. And there are many. Perhaps too many.

I wouldn't steal them, but someone probably will. If they were mine, I would post fewer, make them smaller and lower quality, and when I could, I'd show them in use. Maybe have a pattern silkscreened to fabric and find a seamstress to make you something. Post the photo of the object. Or print up your own gift wrap, wrap a gift with it and post a photo of it. Of course, they must be excellent photos. But this helps to show your design in use and also prevents easy copying.
