done a few of these...the project seems about right, but you want to feel some degree of comfort that you'll get paid in the end before you start...check up on the client...get 25% up front if you need/can...make sure that the deliverables are specified and then give 'em a bit more...good luck on you gig and welcome the the world of contract design...

is usually what I have been and require upfront. As long as it is a stipulation in the proposal, and make sure you also included a net 15, 30, or 60 day final payment.

Are you using your own licence of the software, and computer? If you are it seams a little low. I usually bill out at $90-100 depending on client relationship for Rhino/solid works, and $110-150 for Alias/Pro-e depending on the level of manufacturing detail they are wanting.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

We've agreed on design phases with payments after each. The deposit was 1/2 the hours of the 1st stage (400).

software?, I'm using educational versions of alias and solidworks... I'm a grad student.

Thanks Annie for your advice on 'contract design'...

50%, what's net day final payment exactly?
