Hi all~ I need some suggestions here....

I'm a recent grad who landed an ID job in a consultancy firm about 3 months ago.

I'm wondering how I can keep up my portfolio when a lot of the work I do is "company property" or stuff that I only dipped my fingers in...don't want to forget about the folio and then suddenly in 5 years I have nothing...

As soon as that work goes public (product on the market) you don't need to be too concerned about showing the work. Anything that didn't make it to market could pose a problem.

Keep copies for the future.

If you just dipped your fingers then you didn't play that much of a role. I wouldn't bother placing such projects in my portfolio.

If you were part of a team then you state what your role and contributions to the project were.

do the same thing you did when you were in college before you landed that job, practice stay up late make your own projects. you have the hardest part tackled - landing your first job! its all down hill from here.. you don't have to kill your self but do spend an hour here there in your free time weekends whatever to stay sharp and design new material. good luck
