It has been a long time. It can be quite hard to wake from the grogg of the holidays. I did not make any resolutions this year. Well, that’s not true: I resolved to not bite off more than I can chew. Today my plan is to do some sanding, do some organizing … and hopefully be done before the Simpsons. I am going to enroll in school again this semester… maybe I’ll finish this time. I have some incompletes to finish – it is the story of my life. Nothing is really ever done.

A friend of mine wants me to design and build a day bed all of wood. I guess that would be my first commission. I am confident I can build one after the recovering of the couch. I got a biscuit joiner for Christmas. I’ll keep you posted on the planning. I have a little reserve about the project because she really just wants the day bed from Pottery Barn. That really isn’t my style of design. I suppose if I were going to be positive about the whole thing I should see it as a challenge. Yeah, that’s it. A challenge.
