Changing the Skin affiliated designers examined how 'broken' may be an integral part in the traditional ceramic process. Breaking during manufacturing was traditionally the worst thing that could happen within ceramic craft. Changing the Skin artists turned that idea around and set out to purposefully deform and damage their ceramics during production. The designers associated with Cor Unum have now accomplished a challenging collection—they are representative of a new kind of design, research, intervention and production. The provocative exhibit illustrates that traditional craft still can add to designs of today and tomorrow.
