QED Advanced Systems
Following the success of previous collaborative projects, QED Advanced Systems tasked us with the industrial design and engineering development of their next generation QUBI3 - a multi-functional consumer electronic device for the management of bookable workspaces.
Increasing workforce mobility demands more efficient use of office space. Activity based working and rising office space costs are just some of the issues that are having an effect on the way we all work.
The project aim for QUBI3 was to design a product for mass production which was simple to assemble, easy to install and maintain, but most importantly it had to be seamless to operate.
Teamwork throughout the development was key to success. Early component selection, defining the technologies and a clear vision of product road map from the onset was also paramount in order for all involved to meet the demanding project deliverables.
The device has many technologies enabled, which have specific requirements to operate , bringing unique design challenges, all of which were met successfully.
QUBI3 went from concept to production in less than 6 months.
