The 2022 Core77 Design Awards Design Education Initiative category honors projects that utilize the ideals of design thinking in the course of developing an educational initiative. Programs can be part of a formal educational institution, or come from corporate, non-profit or other stand alone organizations. Examples include, but are not limited to, workshops, class projects, institutional programs, print and/or digital campaigns, education-driven exhibitions, online learning initiatives, toolkits, strategy documents, etc.
This year's Core77 Design Awards Design Education Initiative team was led by Sarah B. Brooks, Distinguished Designer for Strategic Foresight at IBM. Joining Brooks on the panel was Shalini Agrawal, Associate Professor, Critical Ethnic Studies / Founder & Principal, Public Design for Equity, Ruki Neuhold-Ravikumar, Nerman Family President-select at the Kansas City Art Institute, Pierce Otlhogile-Gordon, Ph.D., Equity Innovation Studio Director at Think Rubix, and Omari Souza, Assistant Professor of Communication Design at Texas State University.
