In celebration of the launch of this year's Greener Gadgets Design Competition 2009, we are taking a periodic look at some of the standout entries from last year's Greener Gadget Design Competition. Below is one of our favorites: eNutrition.
You are what you eat!
Even though you don't eat your cell phone or Mp3 player you should still know what they're made from. The earth consumes 2.6 million tons of electronic consumer waste in one year 1, not too healthy of a diet.
With the clear disclosure of each gadget's material contents through a standardized label provides the public with the knowledge to make greener purchases. This documentation of electronics' nutrition level encourages manufacturers to cut the fat and use healthier manufacturing processes and materials, which helps the earth and its habitants.
