Here's an unusual business: A Hawaii-based company called Rolly Receipts offers to stock your business, free of charge, with an ATM that they maintain. The kicker is that the machine gives "smokable receipts" that can be used as rolling papers:
Most receipt paper contains BPA. But Rolly Receipts, founded by chemist Marcus Todd Brisco, uses a non-toxic paper that they say has been lab-tested and deemed safe to smoke. Brisco's motivation to create the receipts was apparently environmental.
The ATMs were distributed in at least eight states in 2022.
In a strange twist, while looking this story up I also found that company founder Brisco was ordered to pay $2 million by a Texas court in 2024, for his involvement in a $146 million Ponzi scheme (apparently unrelated to the ATM company).
