A cooking utensil with a built-in rest, which keeps the business end off of the countertop, isn't new.
However, Japanese housewares brand Yamazaki Home has added a clever feature to their Floating Spoon: Indicator lines that allow you to use it as a measuring spoon.
If you haven't guessed, 5mL is a teaspoon, 15mL is a tablespoon.
Since the spoon is already going into the pot or pan, there's no sense in using an additional measuring cup. One less item to wash.
The Floating Spoon is made of silicone and runs $17.
