We're digging U. of Cincinnati ID student Cody Stonerock's Kurven Chair, made from a combination of Italian Poplar, White Oak veneer, and fiberglass in between for structure. The Eames-esque chair also features a neat attachment system for the leather back and seat: Loops of the material are passed through slots in the wood, and secured in place by inserting a dowel.
Stonerock also has some photos of the chair's construction, which took 10 weeks--as per a school project--from idea to completion, but the photos are rather too small to see much. (Note to Coroflotters who'd like to be posted in this blog: If you have an awesome project, include lots of nice and large process photos!)
You can see the rest of Stonerock's book on Coroflot.
