From micro-technology engineer Maximilian Busser comes this wicked watch with a heckuva long name: The MB&F Horological Machine Number 3 Frog.
The "MB&F" part refers to Busser's creative label, and as for the "Horological Machine" part, Busser writes "by designing and constructing three-dimensional machines rather than wristwatches, MB&F are able to break free of the constraints imposed by traditional horology and create kinetic art."
The HM3 Frog is a variant on MB&F's HM3 (directly above), and as Busser explains, the Frog provided some manufacturing challenges:
The sapphire domes needed to be perfectly machined on both sides so as not to deform the numbers, and the most difficult part was to create the lightest aluminium domes possible - in this case we managed to hit 0.58g by machining them down to a thickness of 0.28mm.The Frog is special, the Frog is rare...we will only craft 32 movements this year: A limited edition of 12 pieces in black titanium (with green gold rotor) and 20 pieces of a non-limited titanium version (with blue gold rotor).
