As you've seen over the course of these posts, design is a process—and a constantly evolving one at that. We have spent the past couple of weeks combing through feedback from Design Museum Boston, a general audience, and from all of you. Thank you all. You've been an integral part of helping us determine the next part of the process.
So where are we now?
As you know the last design share was a big change from weeks prior. The feedback was that direction one was best for the target audience we are trying to attract -- approachable yet designed -- but that it lost something in the last round of refinement. A lot of people missed the idea of an abstract mark that could be used to show the boldness and energy of Design Museum Boston. It wasn't until we removed the mark that the client was able to realize what they wanted to be. Sometimes a client has to see what they don't want to be in order to figure out what they do want to be. And for Design Museum Boston, it's creating an identity that appeals to a general audience, but with a mark that communicates their innovative nature.
The next step will be to refine direction one and explore the integration of a mark that nods to the unique experience that Design Museum offers. Thank you again for all the rich dialogue throughout this project. Check back in a couple of weeks to see the final result.
