Stockholm Furniture Fair 2011:
"Something" nuts and bolts stool
They made it all at the school, and because we do not have access to CNC at the moment, they had to make it all in the lathe at the metal department. It is possible to make the tread in the bolt with a hand router, but it would take so much time, time that they did not have by the way, since they were sanding and oiling just a couple of minutes before we were on our way to the fair.
Oh, by the way, that is not Pete in the photos, that is Kacper.
If they had acme threads inside the nut, then you could use the nut as the support and make the stool height adjustable. Now with just a couple of dowels to act as threads, it doesn't appear as versatile.
