It's not the product complexity that's the design challenge, it the complexity of engaging a population to cycle in a car and train dominated city that can seem/be hostile to cyclists.
I think that's a more complex problem that designing a car or train for existing infrastructure and established behavior patterns.
Wow, the first shot (architecture) is from Magdeburg, Germany! :D I never thought I would see anything like this from our small city. I heard about it being installed one or two years ago and I hope the concept works and it won't get ugly in the future.
