I've been waiting for this one for a while: Finnish design company Loook [sic] Industries has been promising an April launch of their new website, and it looks like today's the day. I've been seeing teaser images of their "Box Lounger" and "Box Sofa" for some time, and now the Loook website has image galleries and more detailed descriptions.
The Box line of furniture is sound-dampening, intended to provide a slightly more private phone conversation area—or simply satisfy that need to burrow and gain a measure of privacy—in an open-space office or public space.
The Boxes were designed by Ivar Gestranius and Kevin Lahtinen, the founders of Loook, who reportedly came up with the idea while trying to converse in a noisy bar. Since making the furniture a reality, the duo now have showrooms in four locations in Finland plus one in Sweden, and we hope to see them expanding this way (or your way) soon.
