Late-breaking Salone news: Aleksandr Mukomelov presented the "Shark Lamp." I can't say it's a particularly challenging design, but I wouldn't mind having this in my yard or on my bookshelf.

I also happen to like Mukomelov's press blurb: "Elegant Floor Lamp. Excellent and cheerful decoration of interiors and exteriors. For fans of the risks and thrills."

Thanks for the tip rw, I hadn't heard of it (though I figured something like that existed)... just saw "Pratonzolo" (my first "Things That Look Like Other Things" post) on that tumblr, among other fun designs.
