On any given design project, the color thing can be hard in one of two ways: Either the client is obsessed with it and the designer's not, or the designer feels each shade variant is life-or-death for the project and the client doesn't seem to get it.
Depending on which side of the equation you're on, Pantone has just made your life easier or harder with their new Fashion + Home "color vocabulary," which contains 175 new hues within the set of 2,100 colors. It's enough to make already-beleaguered designers yearn for the kindergarten days of Roy G. Biv, when we only had seven choices. Or six, really; "Indigo" was always the redheaded stepchild in my crayon box. Er, indigo-headed. You know what I mean.
