Although Core77 doesn't usually cover pieces that are strictly "art," Boris Tellegen's sculptures draw heavily from both architecture and design. Dutch artist Tellegen aka DELTA was a pioneer of the European graffiti scene in the 1980's. His sculptures are the unison of physical versions of his graffiti tags and expertly drafted architectural drawings.
I love how Tellegen takes a room absolutely covered in construction materials and transforms them into cohesive pieces. The finished products are such a wonderful mish-mash of textures and geometric shapes. They feel like cross-sections of some insectoid piecemeal structure. The small permeations of light literally help to illuminate certain layers and levels within the structure.
