Some of you may already have seen this in the ever-expanding blogosphere, but those of you who haven't can hazard a guess before the clickthrough...

According to young Belgian designer Quentin de Coster:Spot is a playful birdhouse that diverts the traditional wooden nest box by adapting it to the plastics industry. Composed of a thermoformed polystyrene hull and an aluminum base, this object to fix in your garden provides the birds with the opportunity to land on the disk or instead, to take shelter in the house itself.
Not only is "Spot" a handsome birdhouse—though I'd like to see images of birds actually using it—it's also an opportunity to learn about the so-called Campaign Hat. For example, did you know that the Canadian version has deeper indentations than the American one? Find out more here.
As for de Coster's design, let's just say I bet it would look good with a bird on it.
