Pre-iPad, I never could find a good solution for using a laptop in bed; my MacBook Pro's underside seems designed to fry your thighs, and putting a blanket beneath it seemed to make it even hotter.

Etsy seller Dniceboater manufactures these Cantilevered Laptop Desks seemingly perfect for the purpose.Admittedly I wouldn't shell out the $779 asking price that goes up to $1,479 for the double-platform complete with cupholder, but I applaud the seller's efforts at trying to build a business around a new type of furniture. Each piece is hand-built using aluminum, brass and wood, with options for steel or copper.
