Nice research.
I work in the furniture industry and am not familiar with SDF. We occasionally get requests for a type of MDF called NAF, no added formaldehyde, that is manufactured by some companies. It is usually marketed as a green material as formaldehyde is naturally found in trees. There is also No Added Urea Formaldehyde (NAUF), and Ultra-low Emitting Formaldehyde (ULEF). Those all meet CARB Phase 2 certified emission levels and may be used for low-emitting materials credit under LEED.
