In Japan, McDonald's is tagging food packaging with QRCodes, so that appropriately-enabled camera phones can pull up nutritional info on the spot. The UbiComp folks are all over this stuff and with their annual conference this week, we're sure to be reading more about curious/weird/powerful/simple applications for smarter technologies like this one.
